When it comes to weddings, the Lake District offers one of the most picturesque backdrops in the UK. Rolling hills, historic houses, and peaceful lakes create a setting full of romance and Michael & Elise’s wedding was a perfect example of that.

Morning Preparations

While Michael and the boys got ready at a quaint Lake District Airbnb, Elise, the beautiful bride, prepared for her big day at her family home in Cumbria. The girls began the morning with a relaxed breakfast on the lawn, enjoying the sunshine together.

Elise chose a stunning pink floral wedding dress, a unique and elegant choice that suited her perfectly. Her bridesmaids wore pastel gowns in soft pink, yellow, and green, creating a delicate palette that beautifully complemented the bride’s look.

Back at the groom’s Airbnb, things were a little more lively. While the boys rehearsed speeches in true laid-back style, we took the opportunity to capture the details that matter most, from the rings to the laughter that filled the house.

Ceremony at Maryport

The ceremony itself was held in the charming town of Maryport, where family and friends gathered to witness the couple exchange vows. The joy in the room was palpable as Michael and Elise became husband and wife.

The bride and groom share an intimate moment by a sunlit window, gently leaning their foreheads together in a quiet embrace. Her floral gown and his light blue suit create a romantic, timeless scene.

Couples’ Portraits at Wordsworth House

After the ceremony, we headed to the historic Wordsworth House. Here, surrounded by Georgian architecture and timeless gardens, we were inspired by classical portraiture. The result was a set of intimate and romantic images that felt straight out of a painting.

Taking time after your ceremony for a private photo session is something we always recommend. Not only does it give you stunning images, but it also offers a rare moment of calm in the whirlwind of the day, a chance to breathe, reflect, and truly take in the joy of your new marriage.

Family & Bridal Party at Bassenthwaite Lake

With portraits complete, the celebrations continued at Bassenthwaite Lake, where family and bridal party photos took place. The wide-open scenery created a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for capturing natural moments of laughter and love.

A Private First Dance by the Lake

Elise had prepared a heartfelt surprise for her new husband. Prior to the wedding, she had asked Feek Media Group’s own singer, Ewan Feek, to learn their favourite song. As the sun shone across the water, Michael & Elise shared a private first dance by the lake while live music played just for them.

It was an unforgettable moment, one we were honoured to capture.

Under the shade of an ancient tree, the bride and groom share their first dance surrounded by wildflowers, while live guitar music is played nearby, a private, romantic moment in nature.

Evening Reception

The day concluded with a traditional town hall reception, full of warmth, laughter, and plenty of dancing. Friends reunited, families celebrated, and the night ended in true Lake District style: with joy, music, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Final Thoughts

All in all, it was a true pleasure to capture Michael & Elise’s Lake District wedding. Every detail — from the morning preparations to the lakeside first dance — told a story of love, joy, and togetherness.
