Lakeland, Florida — March 25th, 2025

Photographing Emily and Alexander’s wedding in Lakeland, Florida, was a genuine pleasure from start to finish. They are a lovely young couple with a clear vision for their day, and that level of thought and preparation always translates beautifully into photographs.
As wedding photographers, it makes a huge difference when couples are organised, positive, and excited about what they’re creating, Emily and Alex were exactly that.
A Clear Vision from the Start
Emily knew exactly what she was looking for in terms of aesthetic and atmosphere. Well in advance of the wedding day, she put together inspiration collages that clearly communicated her vision. This gave us, as photographers, a strong creative direction and allowed us to work with intention from the very beginning.
Having this level of preparation meant that when the day arrived, we were able to focus fully on capturing moments while staying true to the look and feel the couple had envisioned.

Morning Preparations in Lakeland
Emily and Alex were married on March 25th, 2025, a beautiful but very warm time of year in Lakeland, Florida. The Friday morning began at the Junior League Building of Greater Lakeland, where the bridal party gathered to get ready.
Close friends and family were present throughout the morning, and the atmosphere was relaxed, supportive, and full of anticipation. It was a privilege to be behind the lens during such an important part of the day.
Two Perspectives, One Story
At Feek Media Group, we offer something a little different: we’re a married couple who photograph weddings together. This means we’re able to capture two perspectives of the same day as it unfolds.
While one of us was with the bridal party during the morning preparations, the other was able to spend time with Alex and the groomsmen, capturing the banter, the quieter moments, and the build-up from the other side of the day. This approach allows us to tell a more complete story without missing key moments.
A Meaningful First Look
Before the ceremony, Emily and Alex had planned a First Look, a modern but now much-loved tradition that gives couples a quiet moment together before the day fully begins.
This time allowed them to step away briefly from the morning’s activity and see each other properly for the first time, fully dressed and ready. Having two photographers meant we were able to capture both reactions simultaneously, preserving the emotion from both perspectives.
For couples considering a First Look themselves, we’ve also written a dedicated blog sharing five tips to help plan this moment, which we’ll link here for anyone interested.
The Ceremony
Following the First Look, Emily and Alex arrived at their chosen ceremony venue as family and friends waited inside.
The five bridesmaids entered first, wearing forest green dresses and holding bouquets made up of ivory hydrangeas and roses. The look was effortlessly elegant and worked beautifully against the setting.
Emily’s dress was simple, elegant, and timeless. The clean shape and flowing skirt moved beautifully as she walked down the aisle with her father, and the long veil added a soft, romantic feel without taking away from the dress itself. It was understated in the best way and photographed effortlessly from every angle.
Group Photos & Family Time
After the ceremony, we returned to the Junior League Building for family and group photographs before the couple were introduced for dinner.
This part of the day can be overwhelming for guests and tiring for couples, particularly in Florida’s summer heat. We always aim to keep group photos running smoothly and efficiently, minimising time spent in the sun and keeping things relaxed for everyone involved. Staying hydrated, shaded when possible, and taking short breaks makes a big difference at this stage of the day.
We were delighted with the final group portraits. Alex’s groomsmen wore tuxedos that gave a sharp, almost James Bond–style feel, while the contrast with the bridesmaids’ dresses created a striking and memorable look.
An Evening to Celebrate
With the formalities complete, the newlyweds were finally able to relax and enjoy the evening… though not before their first dance!
The Junior League Building was arranged in a horseshoe-style layout, allowing guests to mingle, eat, and move easily between tables and the dance floor. Soft candlelight and floral arrangements filled the room as Emily and Alex shared their first dance, surrounded by friends and family.
Final Thoughts
All in all, Emily and Alexander’s wedding was a wonderful example of how care, preparation, and intention can shape a truly meaningful day. We were genuinely honoured to capture their wedding in Lakeland, Florida and to document such an important moment in their lives.
