Matt and Maria’s wedding was nothing short of magical. From intimate family moments the day before, to a stylish city ceremony, and finally an unforgettable celebration at their favourite local pub, their wedding was full of warmth, culture, and personality. We had the privilege of capturing not just the wedding day itself, but the entire weekend of festivities, and it’s safe to say this couple knows how to throw a celebration filled with love and laughter.
The Day Before
The wedding began on Friday with an intimate meal where some of the bride and groom’s families met for the very first time. There was a real sense of anticipation in the air as stories were exchanged and bonds were formed over good food. Before dinner, the groom’s friends and dad enjoyed a lively game of ping pong, the perfect icebreaker and a reminder that weddings are as much about fun as they are about formality.
Earlier that afternoon, we joined Matt and Maria for a relaxed couple’s shoot near their apartment. Strolling through the park together, we captured a series of candid shots that beautifully reflected their easygoing nature and the quiet excitement they shared ahead of the big day. Taking this time together was not only lovely for photos, but also gave us a chance to get to know them more personally, which made photographing their wedding even more special.
The evening ended with another intimate gathering and the first of many cakes!

The Morning of The Wedding

The big day began in true wedding tradition, with the bride preparing alongside her closest family and bridesmaids. Some of Maria’s family had travelled all the way from Mexico, and it was incredibly touching to see generations come together under one roof in a charming Airbnb in Notting Hill. The space was alive with the gentle hum of excitement.
The sound of hairdryers and makeup brushes, the rustle of dresses being unzipped and steamed, and the occasional burst of laughter as old family stories were shared. At moments, the room fell quiet as emotions caught up with everyone; happy tears were wiped away almost as quickly as they came, only to be replaced with smiles and embraces.
There was a beautiful balance between calm and anticipation. The bridesmaids took turns lending a hand, adjusting veils and jewellery, soaking in every second of this milestone day. Every corner of the room seemed to hold a memory in the making, from the mother of the bride’s proud smile to the tender glances between friends. It was one of those mornings where you could feel that love was the centre of everything.
Meanwhile, Matt started his morning with a relaxed breakfast shared with his best friend and immediate family. In a humorous twist, the best man had somehow taken on the very serious responsibility of keeping the wedding cake safe, a role he took to heart with a mixture of pride and mild panic. It was these little unscripted details that made the morning so memorable.

The Ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall

The ceremony was held at the stunning Kensington and Chelsea Register Office, better known as Chelsea Old Town Hall. This iconic London venue provided the perfect backdrop for Matt and Maria to say “I do.” The setting was elegant and timeless, and as guests arrived dressed to perfection, it was clear just how much love and effort had gone into creating such a stylish occasion.
Watching Matt and Maria exchange vows, surrounded by family and friends from both Poland and Mexico, was truly moving. We felt honoured to witness and capture such a heartfelt moment. The blending of cultures and families made the ceremony particularly meaningful, and the happiness radiating from everyone was unforgettable.

Afterwards, we stole a little time with the newlyweds for a walk through the city streets. London offered its charm in abundance that afternoon, and we captured some beautiful portraits of Matt and Maria, newly married and glowing with joy, against the backdrop of its historic architecture.
The Landmark Hotel Reception

The celebrations continued at the Landmark Hotel, a five-star venue on Marylebone Road known for its grandeur. Guests gathered for drinks and appetisers in its elegant surroundings, with laughter and conversation filling the room as old friends reconnected and new friendships were made.
When the bride and groom arrived, Maria’s brother sat down at the piano and played beautifully. The sound echoed through the space, adding an almost cinematic quality to the moment. It felt like a scene straight from a romantic film, and it perfectly captured the charm of the day.
While guests enjoyed mingling, we took the opportunity to explore the Landmark’s iconic architecture with the couple. The high ceilings, sweeping staircases, and historic details created the perfect setting for a series of intimate portraits. These photos felt timeless, perfectly reflecting the elegance of the day.
And of course, another cake made its entrance! We were beginning to think no part of this wedding would be complete without one!
The Party at The Elgin
As evening fell, the couple invited all their guests to The Elgin, their beloved local in Ladbroke Grove, for the final part of the celebration. The cosy yet vibrant pub provided a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with a buffet and a fully stocked bar, ensuring everyone was well taken care of.
The reception was filled with personal touches that gave us endless opportunities for fun and creative photographs. Guests posed with baby photos of the bride and groom mounted on sticks, laughed around the quirky cigarette bar, and enjoyed the laid-back, joyful vibe that Matt and Maria had so carefully curated.
The couple’s first dance was beautifully intimate, surrounded closely by their guests, before, in true Matt and Maria fashion, yet another cake appeared. This time, rather than the traditional cutting, Maria chose to feed the ENTIRE cake to every guest by hand. It was a playful and heartfelt gesture that summed up the couple perfectly: generous, fun-loving, and wonderfully unique.

A Wedding to Remember
Looking back, Matt and Maria’s wedding was a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple. From the warm and intimate moments with family, to the elegance of Chelsea Old Town Hall, and finally the laughter-filled celebration at their favourite local, the day was full of love and joy.
For us, it was a privilege to capture not just the big moments, but the little ones too, the ping pong games, the laughter over breakfast, the music, the cakes, and the countless smiles that filled the weekend.
We’re so grateful to Matt and Maria for trusting us with their memories and for reminding us once again why we love what we do.
